Before Mustard Seed, I didn't really go anywhere or do anything. I felt stuck. My mentor just kept showing up, never judged me, and helped me believe I could actually do stuff. Now I'm cooking, I've been ice skating, and I'm thinking about college again. First time in years I actually feel hopeful.

When my daughter started struggling, I didn't know where to turn. School couldn't help, and I felt like I was failing her. Mustard Seed didn't just support her, they supported me too. They listened, never judged, and gave us both a safe space. She's smiling again. That means everything.

Mustard Seed fills a critical gap in our community. They reach young people and adults who fall through the cracks of mainstream provision and they do it with dignity, patience, and real skill. Their mentoring and life skills programmes are delivering outcomes that matter. We're proud to support their work.

All our core services are completely free. This includes one to one mentoring, life skills workshops, family support, and Social Development Opportunities (SDOs). Our community kitchen offers free meals to vulnerable children and families, and affordable meals to everyone else through our social enterprise (50% or less than market price).

No, you can refer yourself. You do not need a professional referral, a diagnosis, or any paperwork. If you’re a professional (school, social worker, council), you can also refer someone using our referral form. If you’re unsure, just get in touch and we’ll guide you.

Trauma aware practice means we understand that past experiences shape present behaviour. We don’t judge or punish. We prioritise safety, trust, and understanding in everything we do. Our spaces are calm, our staff are trained, and there is never any pressure to participate more than you’re comfortable with.
